“We can integrate more parts and include more in our deliveries. Nothing is left in the gray area.”
NEWS RELEASE 1st June 2021
Ardor has named Mika Mäkinen as Chief Operating Officer in charge of the company’s processes, quality and procurement. Mäkinen will be responsible for developing Ardor’s manufacturing system and production methods to such a level that the company can manufacture larger piping systems and steel components for its customers in factory conditions.
“When the parameters are clearly defined, we are able to offer our services to large industrial companies with greater speed and flexibility”, Mäkinen says. “We can integrate more parts and include more in our deliveries. Nothing is left in the gray area.”
Mika Mäkinen understands the needs of the industry well from his time at Wärtsilä, Pemamek, and Meyer Turku shipyard, his employer prior to the move to Ardor. In his role as Head of Outfitting Processes & Development at Meyer, he developed LEAN methods, the shipyard’s delivery relationships, as well as collaboration between Finnish and German shipyards.
According to Mäkinen, over the past few years Ardor has built a strong base on which to improve its service performance. The company has invested in digitalization, business scalability, and employee know-how.
“Next on the list is modularity. We have unique skills in manufacturing and those will only get stronger as we understand our customer’s needs better. I also appreciate Ardor’s frank and open-minded culture. We are open to new ideas and partnerships.”
Ardor recently renewed its strategy. The company is aiming for strong growth in the near future on the back of customer experience, collaboration, digitalization and quality.
“Customer experience drives everything we do”, says Ardor’s CEO, Henri Hyvärinen. “I am thrilled to have an innovator like Mika Mäkinen on the Ardor team. I am confident that under Mika’s guidance big things will quickly reach their destinations.”
