Ardor strengthens its strategic know-how: Jukka Nikkanen and Olli Manner appointed to the board of directors

“The job of board is to support change so that the company can offer its customers better quality, higher reliability of delivery, and cost effectiveness.”

NEWS RELEASE 23rd June 2021

At Ardor’s Annual General Meeting, two new business leaders independent of the company were appointed to the Board of Directors. Jukka Nikkanen, known for his previous position as Chairman of the Board at GRK Infra Ltd, was appointed Chairman of the Board.

“Ardor has very clear goals and the employees are ready to work hard to achieve them”, says Nikkanen.

“Ardor’s new strategy is a good starting point for the work, but more important is a solid frame of mind, constant development, and a readiness for change. The job of Ardor’s board of directors is to support change so that the company can offer its customers better quality, higher reliability of delivery, and cost effectiveness.”

Joining Nikkanen on Ardor’s new board of directors is Olli Manner and Otto Hellman. Olli Manner is the Chairman of the Board of the top design companies, Elomatic and Cadmatic, and one of the owners.  Otto Hellman is a member of the management team at Ardor, and is responsible for customer relations and sales and marketing.

“I see a genuine passion and joy for entrepreneurship at Ardor“, says Olli Manner. “A long time ago I studied engineering, and I have also worked my entire life in designing piping and design systems, but after work experience as student, I never got the chance to work in the workshop. Hopefully I can now fix that by sparring with Ardor as well as possible.”

According to Manner, as a company investing in digitalization, Ardor is one of the top companies in the industry. Its customers are in two main sectors: industrial and shipbuilding, both of which are in an interesting phase:

“A significant part of Corona stimulus funding ends up directly or indirectly in industrial investments. The maritime clusters need to have resolve and patience now more than ever. If someone in the industry feels like giving up, I would say that now is not a good time to throw in the towel. The maritime industry in Finland is in for significant growth.”

Ardor’s board of directors was previously made up of important owners. The board of directors development work is being supported by Hallituspartnerit Turku ry. Otto Hellman and CEO, Henri Hyvärinen, have high expectations of the new board:

“A strong board will give us a push when we need to take things to the next level”, says Hyvärinen, who also worked previously as the Chairman of the Board.

“At the same time we benefit from the kind of know-how and experience that we haven’t had before. The board supports us so that we don’t get stuck, rather continue to develop strongly every day.”
