Tallink Megastar – 130tonnes to an LNG ro-pax ferry as a direct shipyard delivery

Ardor delivered approximately 130 tonnes of prefabricated piping to Tallink's new LNG-powered ro-pax ferry Megastar in 2017. The project had an unusual delivery structure: there was only one customer - the Meyer Turku shipyard that built the vessel directly, with no system suppliers in between.

The Megastar project is an interesting exception in Ardor's reference portfolio.The delivery volume (130t) is clearly smaller than for large series-built cruise ships - for example, the Mein Schiff series vessels were in the230–400+ tonne range and Mardi Gras around 400 tonnes.

On the Megastar project, Ardor worked directly with the shipyard without intermediaries, which required close cooperation with the Meyer Turku project team. Ardor demonstrated its ability to deliver smoothly and reliably in this delivery model as well.

Megastar also differs from Ardor's other ship references in vessel type:it is a ro-pax ferry, not a cruise ship. Megastar is, however, an LNG vessel,and Ardor has strong experience in piping deliveries for LNG vessels and thespecial requirements they entail.
