The Harjavalta battery materials plant pipe bridge and chemical piping project is one of Ardor's most extensive industrial deliveries. The scope included 10 km of chemical piping with insulation and electrical tracing as well as a total of one million kilograms of steel structures, jointly delivered with Konepaja Survonen.

A particular feature of the project was the tight weekly schedule: 25 pipe bridge blocks were delivered to the site at one block per week. This required precise prefabrication planning, particularly with regard to block interfaces. The largest individual blocks were 46 metres long and weighed 100,000 kilograms.

Division of work: Konepaja Survonen fabricated the steel structures at its own facilities, where Ardor performed the piping installations. Survonen handled transport and lifts on site in Harjavalta, after which Ardor completed the piping installations, block joints, pressure tests, inspections and documentation.

A high degree of prefabrication wasthe guiding principle of the project: work done in the factory is significantly faster than work on site, and a systematically laid-out factory hall enable defficient progress. This significantly shortened the on-site installation lead time.
